Plastics Industry

Injection molding and plastic extrusion operations can benefit from Dry Ice Blasting. As parts are molded, several release agents and residue can build up on the mold tool, increasing defect rates. Dry Ice Blasting is suitable for in place cleaning because the dry ice particles sublimate upon impact with the targeted surface. Dry Ice Blast Cleaning in place eliminates many of the steps necessary in other traditional cleaning processes; including cool down, disassembly, and transport to and from a dedicated cleaning area, inspection for grit entrapment, re-installation and reheating. Dry Ice Blast Cleaning offers a reduction in labor costs, reduced wear on tooling, decreased scrap rates, and increased production time while offering a contaminant free solution to your operation. It Eliminates waxy paraffin build up, eliminates orange peel and thin wall defects, eliminates damaging screw structure or tolerance, keeps screw hot after cleaning making reheat times shorter. Cleaning can take place while molds are still at curing temperature. It thoroughly cleans plastic molds without damage, reduces need to disassemble equipment and increases production time by reducing or eliminating downtime. Some of the applications are: molds, extruder screws, extrusions screws, packaging equipment, glue heads and gluers, mold machines, blow molds, injection mold cavities, de-flashing parts, coaters units, delivery units, footboards, glue pots, flexography, offset and web-fed, ovens and mixers.
