Environmental Facts

Dry Ice Blasting reduces or eliminates the need for toxic solvents. This results in less employee exposure to solvents and reduced corporate liability. Solvent reductions are a result of using this alternative process and are necessary to comply with ever changing environmental regulations. This process also results in improved worker safety. When removing hazardous material with other blasting media such as sand, glass beads, walnut shells, water, etc., both contaminant and blast material must be disposed of as toxic waste. Dry ice blasting does not generate secondary waste like other cleaning processes because dry ice (CO2) sublimates into the atmosphere on contact. Dry ice blasting is truly environmentally friendly!

  • Dry Ice CO2 pellets are a recycled by product and do not create or contribute CO2 and therefore do not add to the greenhouse effect.
  • Dry ice blasting has been officially accepted as a safe & effective cleaning procedure by the EPA, FDA, USDA. And approved for use in food processing by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
  • Dry ice blasting is non-toxic and non-abrasive.
  • Dry ice pellets evaporate upon contact into the atmosphere leaving no secondary waste or harmful gas emissions.
  • Dry ice blasting is 100% risk-free for use with food processing equipment.
  • Dry ice blasting diminishes employee contact with hazardous cleaning materials.
  • Dry ice blasting is not hazardous to plant, animal or human life.
